USC is committed to providing prevention and education programming and training to every student, staff, and faculty member to help foster a welcoming and safe environment for all to learn, research, and work. Students, including undergraduate and graduate students, are required to complete training on an annual basis. Employees, including faculty and staff, are required to complete training at least every two years.
Student Training
All first-time matriculating undergraduate and graduate students are required to complete an online module, Sexual Assault Prevention. Returning undergraduate and graduate students are required to complete an online module, Sexual Assault Prevention Ongoing: Taking Action, which builds on the initial online module.
In addition, as part of the university’s Consensual and Healthy Relationships curriculum, first, second, and third year undergraduate students are required to take a prevention education module provided in live sessions by Student Health’s RSVP team.
- First year undergraduate students are required to complete Trojans Respect Consent
- Second year undergraduate students are required to complete Healthy Relationships
- Third year undergraduate students are required to take Trojans Act Now.

Employee Training
All university employees, including faculty and staff, are required to complete mandatory Harassment Prevention Training upon hire and every two years. This training includes information on:
- How to identify potential discrimination and harassment, including sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual misconduct, related retaliation, as well as abusive conduct.
- How to make a report, and where to go for help and support.
- The university’s process for responding to and resolving forms of these types of conduct.
- How to be an upstander and ways to contribute to a supportive university community.
