We are excited to have Linda Hoos as our new Vice President for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX and Title IX Coordinator, a role she stepped into on April 5 with the departure of Catherine Spear, who is stepping into a new role within the University of California (UC) system, as Executive Director of its inaugural Office of Civil Rights.
Linda, who was previously Associate Vice President for Equity, Equal Opportunity, and Title IX, joined USC in the Fall of 2021, bringing with her tremendous experience in the civil rights space, including 10 years in higher education. Having received her law degree from Gould School of Law, she is at home at USC and already immersed in our campus culture, unifying values, and mission.
“We are deeply grateful to Catherine for her impact in helping to transform USC’s efforts to foster a community free from discrimination and harassment,” said Felicia A. Washington, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Equity, and Compliance, in announcing the appointment of Linda. “The programs and initiatives developed under her tenure will live on in the robust efforts of the EEO-TIX team and the continued leadership of Linda Hoos.”
